Day 2: SACRED VALLEY: HUILLOC COMMUNITY EXPERIENCE
Pick-up from your hotel in the Sacred Valley and transfer to the rural community of Huilloc, accompanied by a professional guide. Upon arrival in this Andean community located in the province of Urubamba, you will take part in Kusi Runa, a traditional Inca practice focused on agricultural life (chakra). A local interpreter will welcome you and accompany you to the home of a community member, where you will be offered a warm muña herbal infusion. As a symbolic gesture of integration, you will be dressed in traditional Huilloc attire (ponchos for men and blankets for women) and invited to use ancestral farming tools. Men participate in agricultural activities while women prepare a meal using organic local products. The experience concludes with a spiritual ritual featuring traditional music and dance, offering an authentic insight into the Andean way of life. Enjoy a home-cooked Andean lunch, prepared with fresh, locally sourced ingredients, served at a community member’s home. After the experience, transfer back to your hotel in the Sacred Valley or Cusco.
Comfortable and light clothing is recommended for visiting the coastal areas of Peru, while for the high Andean area the use of warm clothing is recommended.
